Due to Anti-Money Laundering laws, gift cards are highly regulated. As a 3rd party buyer this makes purchasing gift cards difficult and in most cases the order is cancelled by the merchant.
Additionally, most gift cards can be given without the need for any personal information simply by purchasing an e-gift card and sharing the claim code.
We think it's important for you to understand how we handle gift card purchases:
- Before we place the order, we will give you a heads up regarding our Gift Card Policies (see below), and let you know your options ahead of time.
- If you so choose, we will attempt to place the order
- If the merchant cancels, or if we are unable to fulfill a gift card purchase for any reason, we will only issue you LuxyCredits.
- The amount issued in LuxyCredits will only include the value of the gift card plus any taxes and shipping fees paid. We will retain any service fee charged.
Here are our policies regarding gift card purchases
- We are not able to process gift card orders for vendors we are able to purchase physical goods from.
- We are unable to process gift card orders that require us to create an account
- As with all gift items added to a list, the lister is responsible for understanding the terms and conditions of any gift card purchase.
- We are unable to process multiple gift cards from the same vendor in the same order.
- The maximum gift card amount for any one order is $500 combined
- The maximum number of gift cards we are able to place for any order is 2
We appreciate your understanding as we navigate an ever changing regulatory environment and do our best to balance fulfilling the dreams of our Listers with the reality of financial regulation.
