For Customers Outside the United States

LuxyList is a US-based personal shopping service. When we purchase gifts on your behalf, we use our US billing address and payment methods to complete transactions with merchants.

What This Means For You:

Most merchants worldwide accept US billing addresses, especially when payment is processed through services like PayPal or major credit cards. However, some merchants - particularly country-specific luxury retailers - require that the billing address matches the shipping country.

Before Adding Items to Your Wishlist:

To avoid disappointment, we recommend checking whether merchants accept international billing before adding items to your list.

How to Check:

  1. Add an item to your cart on the merchant's website
  2. Proceed to checkout (you don't need to complete the purchase)
  3. Look for billing address requirements or restrictions
  4. Check if they accept PayPal or international credit cards

If We Can't Complete Your Purchase:

If we discover a merchant doesn't accept we will:

  • Notify you so you can select an alternative merchant
  • Offer LuxyCredits for the value of the gift

Tips for International Customers:

Use US-based merchant websites when possible (e.g., tiffany.com instead of country-specific sites)

Check for "ships internationally" options on US merchant sites

Be aware of potential customs duties and taxes for international shipments

Consider delivery times for international shipping

Verify return policies for international orders

Common Questions:

Q: Can you check if a merchant will accept your billing before I add it to my list? A: Unfortunately, no. With millions of potential merchants worldwide, we can't pre-screen each one. Billing restrictions often aren't visible until checkout is attempted.

Q: Can I get a cash refund instead of LuxyCredits? A: LuxyCredits cannot be converted to cash due to financial compliance and anti-money laundering regulations. Learn more about LuxyCredits here.

Q: Will you try alternative payment methods if one doesn't work? A: We attempt purchases using our standard payment methods. If a merchant's system rejects US billing addresses, there's no alternative payment method that will override that restriction.

Best Practices:

For the smoothest gifting experience as an international customer:

  • Favor items from US-based merchants or global retailers
  • Check merchant billing policies when adding items
  • Keep your shipping address updated
  • Monitor tracking information once provided
  • Be prepared for potential customs charges on international shipments
